Capturing the Storm

By : Stiksy

I have learned that lightning photography is part skill, part luck and as you mostly have to shoot outdoors a lot of risk!

Firstly you have to wait for the right storm, one that allows you to take her photo and doesn't decide to wipe you and your equipment out. I am not a storm chaser as such but when the opportunity presents itself I certainly do try to take advantage of the moment without getting fried in the process!!

Turn A New Photo Into An Old Photo In Photoshop

Written By Steve Patterson
In this Photoshop tutorial, we're going to look at how to do a bit of reverse photo restoration, turning a new or recent photo into an old photo, one that looks like it was taken many years ago, and we'll be doing it by combining several separate effects to create our final result. We'll be looking at how to replace a photo's original colors with a classic sepia tone, how to add a soft glow to an image, how to darken edges, how to add noise, dust and scratches, how to fade an image by brightening the blacks and darkening the whites, and we'll even see how to bring back some of the photo's original color when we're done. Lots of fun stuff!
Of course, as with many photo effects, the results you end up with will depend a lot on the photo you're using. If you have a picture of someone sitting in their new 2008 model car wearing the latest fashions while listening to an iPod, trying to make the photo look like it was taken 40 or 50 years ago isn't really going to work, unless your goal is to use the photo as proof that time machines really do exist.
Here's the image I'll be working with in this Photoshop tutorial:

The original image.
And here's what it will look like when we're done:

The Five Rules For Taking Great Pictures Of Food

Are you ready to share your casserole with the world? Be careful. A bad photo can make your best culinary creation look like a disaster. So how do food photographers create these mouthwatering masterpieces? How do they get the food to jump out and make you want to take a bite? I’ll give you a hint. It’s all smoke and mirrors. Here are a few of the tricks they use.

Food photography is a big business, and you would be surprised at what goes into creating an image like the one shown above. Many companies hire a food stylist and a prop stylist to get the image just right. The food stylist meticulously arranges the items on the plate while the prop stylist considers all of the background elements. It takes a lot of time, and years of practice, but it sure does make us hungry.

How To Make Waterfalls Look Blurred In A Photo

Some photographic effects will never go out of style. If you’ve ever seen those gorgeous photos of silky smooth waterfalls, you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat. It doesn’t take that much knowledge or equipment to create this effect. All you need is a waterfall, a tripod, a camera, and willingness to get up at the crack of dawn.

Photography Terms

Istilah-istilah yang biasa digunakan dalam dunia Fotografi :

LS:
